To get to Chitwan we would have to come to Kathmandu. If you are a foreign tourist then you can come through international flights from Asia, Europe, or America to Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu. After arriving in Kathmandu we will have a 5hour journey if we go by road or around 30-45 minutes trip by air. We will be descending slightly downwards to the flatlands of Nepal known as the Terai region on moving from Kathmandu to Chitwan. You will be away from the big buildings and lots of pollution after you start moving towards Chitwan. Unlike Kathmandu, you will be seeing flora and fauna in Chitwan. There are many endangered and rare species of animals in the national park in Chitwan, Chitwan National Park. You can indulge in safari, boating, and experience the Tharu culture from close.
There are a lot of things to do in Chitwan and if you are staying here for three days then, you will have a chance to experience almost everything. Generally, people are here for a day or less and they visit all the places but they don’t get it all like you can go on a safari but you might not be lucky to spot any animal like the tiger, gharial or the deer, but if you are spending three days, you can dedicate a lot of your time in doing the same thing so that you don’t miss anything.
You can change this itinerary, services, accommodation, duration of this trip etc.to suit your needs and budget. The choice is yours. Let us help you tailor your perfect holiday.
Kathmandu has a lot of places to roam around. If you take time and visit all the places properly, you might have to spend weeks here. However, for people who are in a rush, we can have a quick visit to some of the most popular places in Kathmandu. The places that you must not miss when you come to Kathmandu are Kathmandu Durbar Square, SwayambhunathStupa, Pashupatinath Temple, and Boudhanath stupa.
The drive from Kathmandu to Chitwan is about 5 hours long. However, if you do not want to spend more time traveling on road we can also go to Chitwan through domestic flights to make the most of your trip in visiting places rather than spending time on the road. After arriving at Chitwan we will have some food in the hotels around and in the afternoon we will be going on a short hike to a Tharu village. We can even take an ox ride through the village. Tharu’s are the people living around there and they have been performing cultural dance for tourists for a long time. After that, we can go to watch the sunset from the riverbank. We will return back to our hotel to have some dinner and at the end of the day, we will be watching the popular Tharu cultural dance.

On our second day at the national park we will spend most of our time at the elephant breeding farm, looking at all the big and young elephants. After this we will be going around crossing rivers, do canoe ride and take jungle walk to look for tigers, leopards, and other wildlife. However, do not worry about the animals you will be with a professional guide of the National Park who will guide and walk along with you. We can also do bird-watching here because Chitwan attracts a large number of birds. We will end our exhausting second day here.

If you missed any animal or wanted to explore more of the national park today is the day. You can opt to wake early in the morning to watch the sunrise by the riverside and also spot some birds or animals. In the afternoon we will be going on an Elephant safari, which is sitting on the back of the Elephant, and going to the dense Chitwan National Park to see more of the flora and fauna. If we are lucky enough, we might be able to spot One-horned Rhinoceros, Tigers, Deers, or other animals including the Gharial. The safari will be our last activity in Chitwan after which we will head back to Kathmandu by road or by air.
This brings us to the end our tour but if return back early and you want to see the nightlife of Kathmandu and sit at a place to chill, you can go to Thamel area where there are lots of hotel and restaurants which offer great food and service. You are more likely to want to spend more days traveling around here or return back soon after the completion of your tour.
