We will take an early morning flight to Lukla (the gateway to the Everest trek). After the dramatic 30 min flight, enjoying the beautiful view of the hills and mountains, we land in Lukla, where we meet with our complete crew and proceed with our trek towards Phadking. After about a 4 hours trek we reach a small village of Phadking. You will stay overnight at a local lodge.
Moving uphill, we enter the Sagarmatha national park (loaded with species of flora and fauna). Gradually moving forward we pass several bridges and reach the Khumbu region, Namche Bazaar. From here, we get the sight of Everest, AmaDablan. You will stay overnight there. In the evening, we may explore the Namche Bazzar and go for food hunting or try something new.
After breakfast, we will leave for the trek. This will be one of the hardest days of trekking from an elevation gain viewpoint. You gain nearly 4,000 feet / 1,200 meters. However, it will also be one of the most rewarding days as you get to enjoy some stunning views of the Everest Mountain Range, Serene Forest out in the distance throughout the trek. On the way, we will also stop for some exploration of monasteries. We will stay overnight at a local lodge in Tengboche.
Today we head towards Dingboche. Dingboche is a distant and thrilling village that was conventionally a farming area for Sherpa people. We get to see many walled-off areas for growing buckwheat and potatoes. To the left of Dingboche lies Mt. Everest Base Camp, this is our destination. So, we start to trek from Tengboche, passing through small villages, forest, suspension bridges, and reach Dingboche. We will stay overnight at a local lodge.
After breakfast, we trek towards Lobuche. We pass through or above Pheriche, a lonely but picturesque village. After reaching Dhugla, we climb a steep 30- to 60-minute up. From here, it’s a mostly flat hike to Lobuche. You will regret if you forget to take your camera there. The overnight stay will be at Lobuche. However, we will be prepared for our next trip.
Today is the day when we will get to the base camp. So, we begin the trek towards Gorakshep. The extend from Lobuche to Gorakshep usually takes two to three hours. However, you will gain almost 300 meters in altitude. Passing the trails of ChangriNup, Pumori, Changri we reach Gorakshep. Gorakshep is the townsite of Everest base camp. Here, we suit up, strip down our day packs, and head towards our goal, Everest base camp.
To see the summit of Mount Everest, we have to hike up to a landmark known as Kala Patthar, or “black rock”. The place sits at around 5,600 meters, making it upper in elevation than Everest Base Camp. The Base Camp is at 5,364 meters. You can see the summit of Mount Everest from there. It is the world’s tallest peak. After the view of Kalapatthar, we fly to Kathmandu by heli. We say heartfelt goodbye to the majestic mountains. Then, we land in Kathmandu. You will be transferred to our hotels and left on your own to enjoy and relax. Overnight stay at the hotel.
