This Pikey Peak Trek is an short, yet rewarding journey to the lower Everest Regions. You can get the best out of this region without climbing a much higher altitude. Sir Edmund Hillary once highlighted Pikey Peak as one of the finest vantage points to see Mount Everest.
You may also observe breathtaking views of other Top Highest Mountain Peaks like Makalu (8,463m), Lhotse (8,516m), and Cho Oyu (8,188m). You may be slightly farther away from the big peaks. This means the view from the path encompasses much more of the Himalayas.
One of the best attractions of Pikey Peak Trek is the route is relatively less crowded than other popular Everest / non Everest trekking destinations in Nepal. So if you are the one who enjoys peaceful and serene surroundings with no compromise in natural beauty, this package is for you.
Moreover, the trek offers plenty of opportunities for adventure and exploration, with options to camp out under the stars, try local foods, and meet friendly local people.
You also have a opportunity to expand your trip and have an alternative trek to Dudhkunda. Dudhkunda is named after a lake, a calm turquoise water believed to have spiritual powers. All these extra features of this region make this trip thrilling and unforgettable.
There is no precise age boundary for this trekking. Seniors and minimum age people can also do it if they find it safe and convenient. However, it is better to be aware of the route map, itinerary, difficulty, altitude, action challenges, fitness, medications, necessities before the trip.
Throughout the Lower Everest Regions, you will visit amazing villages and towns of the Khumbu regions. These villages are renowned for their unique culture, traditions, and hospitality. Moreover, you will get to encounter Pikey Peak Base Camp and Jase Bhanjyang.

The ideal time for the Pikey Peak Trek is spring (March–May) and autumn (September–November), with clear skies and stable weather. The trek is possible in winter and summer, but conditions can be more challenging.
For adventure seekers, winter and monsoon can also be appealing trekking seasons. In winter, Pikey Peak reveals a strikingly different landscape, with mostly clear, sunny days. However, higher elevations can be extremely cold, with unpredictable weather.
The summer or monsoon season is more demanding due to frequent rainfall. Slippery, muddy trails make walking difficult, while insects and leeches in lower areas add to the challenge. On clear days, though, the mountain views rising above the clouds at Pikey Peak are truly breathtaking.
The Pikey Peak trekking route is relatively less explored compared to popular treks like Everest Base Camp or the Manaslu Circuit. Due to its low footfall, accommodation options are limited to teahouses and a few small lodges. These provide basic facilities, including shared rooms, communal dining spaces, and simple meals.
Carrying a sleeping bag is recommended for extra warmth and comfort. This trek also offers a wonderful chance to interact closely with locals and experience the genuine hospitality and culture of rural Nepal.
Before starting your trek to Pikey Peak, you need to take both mental and physical training. This helps to withstand extreme weather and adventure in this region. It is a moderate adventure, ideal for trekkers with a reasonable fitness level. The route includes uphill and downhill sections, with some steep climbs to the summit. No technical climbing skills are required.
Altitude sickness has been a major problem for most of the visitors. Here are the few tips that are tried and tested by our professional leaders:
The most significant things to be included on the backpack are:
Others
You need to pack your bags lightly because you will not be able to carry heavy loads along with the trek. You will not be able to enjoy your journey in the Himalayas unless you pack wisely. You will be sleeping in small lodges and tea houses during the entire trip. Please be prepared with the right clothes as per the season. It will get colder at the higher elevations especially during winters. You can also consult us or simply visit our comprehensive packing list for the Pikey Peak trek in Nepal.
All visitors to Nepal require a visa except Indian nationals. Citizens of SAARC nations, such as Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Bhutan, are exempt for up to 30 days.
Obtaining a Nepal visa is straightforward. You can apply online at https://nepaliport.immigration.gov.np/ within 15 days of your arrival. The application requires your hotel address in Nepal and a digital passport-sized photo.
Once submitted, print the confirmation page and present it at the immigration section of Kathmandu airport along with your passport and the visa fee.

The money will be used to prebook the hotels (which will be very hard to get during peak seasons), and acquire the required permits. You can pay the remaining payment right before we start your trek, i.e. upon arriving in Nepal.
After the initial booking, we will need your detailed informations i.e documents like passport copy, photo, flight details, travel insurance, etc. We will ask for these documents within a week of booking your trek. While booking with us, we want to let you know that we are concerned about your safety, and all your documents will be safely with us.
Also during the trek, you will constantly have the experienced guide to provide you with the best recommendations throughout the trek.
If you have, all your documents ready, along with travel insurance, we take the last minute bookings too. We will do our best to run your trek on intended time, if everything goes as per time. You need to pay full amount before 24 hrs of the trek departure date. For customised treks, please stay in touch with us to check availability and arrangements.
The trek is not difficult physically. However, the altitude will make it hard. The trek has rising and falling flats and abruptly ascends but it is generally manageable for the trekker of any age. They require little trekking experience. However, it is advised for the trekker to be physically fit and have some training before planning this trek.
It is highly recommended to purchase travel insurance. You need to make sure that it covers emergency evacuation at high altitude. Altitude sickness may attack you though you are physically fit. The only solution is to take time and walk slow. If you feel uncomfortable, it is suggested to go lower elevation.
The trekking cost including accommodation, guide/porter, fees, foods etc remains the same. Nepelase citizens do not have to pay permit fees unlike foreigners. Foreign citizens need to pay extra charges. The cost will differ nearly by 200 US$ to Nepalese. You may inquire us for the further updated cost.
The best month for the trek is during the pre-monsoon months. This is generally from March to May. However, post-monsoon months starting from late September till December are also considered favorable. You need to prepare accordingly during the winter seasons. Some people also go trekking in February and early September.
Trekkers will enjoy 3 hearty meals on each day of the trek. You will have breakfast and dinner at the same lodge where you will stay at night. You will be provided lunch at teahouses or small restaurants along the way. You can easily choose your favorite food from the menu provided to you. Our leaders will make sure that you are provided with the right foods. You will be given fresh and organic fruits. They may be brought from Kathmandu or locally sourced in the villages. Your diet will comprise complex carbohydrates, proteins, and fats. We may arrange vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and kosher diets with prior notice.
Yes, the trek is fixable. We can continue to other trekking as per guest request. However, visit other trekking sites may include additional charge.

Teahouses usually offer a mix of local and traditional meals, including dal bhat, noodles, momos, pancakes, etc.
