The Ruby Valley trek is one of the perfect combinations of easier and beautiful treks. The trek is hidden in between the famous trekking areas of two famous destinations. They are Langtang National Park and Manaslu Conservation Area. This journey is very valuable with incredible alpine scenery, engaging culture, and comfortable accommodation. Walking is not that exhausting with all those beauties around.
The trip passes with the heritages of Tamang and Sherpa that welcome you with warm culture. There is terraced farmland that provides you an insight into the traditional farming of Nepal. Farming and cattle rearing is the major occupation of local people residing in the villages. Similarly, you may explore various places like Gatlang, Somdang, Pangsang Pass, and Chalise. On top of that, there are the giant Himalayas that add beauty to nature. The valley is home to many rare animals of Nepal such as the Red Panda and Snow Leopard.
On the way, you will be observing Mt. Langtang Lirung, Mt. Ganesh, Dorje Lakpa, etc. You will get the opportunity to trek Hindung, Rajgang Kharka, Jharlang, and Darkha. A representative from our office will pick you from the airport after you arrive in Kathmandu. He/She will take you to our hotel. In the afternoon, we may visit the office or take a rest if you are too tired. You will also be provided a welcome dinner hosted by our institution. You will be served authentic Nepali cuisine that tells you the Nepalese culture. You will stay overnight in Kathmandu.
We will be reaching Syabrubesi after 7 hours of the drive towards the north of Kathmandu. We will be taking a jeep or bus from Kathmandu. We can observe the gorgeous scenery of Trishuli Bazar and Dhunche on the way. You can observe the beautiful Himalayan peaks of Annapurna, Manaslu, and Ganesh as we cross Kakani. Similarly, the terraced green hills and lush forests make your drive very pleasurable. We will stay overnight at Syabrubesi.
Today, we will be trekking from Sybrubensi to Gatlang passing through Chawatar. The path ascends through dusty and winding motor roads. Gatlang is a very popular village in the path of Tamang heritage. The main inhabitants of this village are the Tamang ethnic group. These groups have very unique customs and traditions. We will stay overnight in a tented camp.
Parvati Kunda is one of the beautiful regions that is situated just above Gatlang. We will start to climb uphill reaching the famous sacred Kunda. It draws many pilgrims during Janai Purnima. From there, we will continue towards pine and rhododendron forests. It leads us to Yuri Kharka. After resting for some time, we follow the path that continues to Khurpu Bhanjyang. After that, trekkers need to descend to the Somdang River. We will stay overnight at a tented camp.
We will reach Pangsang Pass after a short day walk from Somdang village. It is the best viewpoint for enjoying the beautiful panoramic views of two peak, Manaslu and Ganesh. You may observe a beautiful Ganesh Himal that makes you delighted from inside. In ancient times, it was the region for trading herbs and cattle to Tibet. There are a few lodges at Pasang Pass. We will stay overnight at one of them.
Today, trekkers need to descend to Tipling from Pangsang. We reach Pansan Kharka by crossing the Pangsang Pass. The land is pastureland for the local cattle herders. The path continues along the rocky ridge. Then, we cross Adha Khola. From there we will ascend to the sister villages named Shertung. In this way, we reach our final destination at Shertung Chalise Gaon. Overnight stay will be at tented camp.
Today, it is a very short 4 to 5 hours trek to our final destination. Hindung village is famous with another name of Gomba Danda. We will walk along the Tatopani Khola. On the way, you will get to enjoy lush green hills and mountain peaks. Local people of this region collect a medicinal herb called Yarsagumba. They are found in the highlands of Hindung. This medicinal herb has significant value in the international market. Overnight stay will be at tented camp.
Today, we need to climb steeply upwards to Rajgang Kharka. You will be provided for breakfast early in the morning. The path is a little rocky and slippery. However, our professional coaches are there to guide you in any difficult circumstances. Please feel free to take help from them. After some hours of trek, we come to our final destination. You will get the opportunity to explore the lifestyle of the local people living there. We will stay overnight at this place.
The path retraces the same path along with the forests. Today, the beautiful mountains surrounding us from each side are sure to attract us throughout the trek. The biodiversity of this region is incredibly amazing. In this way, we will descend to Kalo Seto Kunda. It is popularly known as a black and white lake. Then, we will further continue our journey to Ganesh Himal Base Camp. Overnight stay will be at camp.
The path leads through lush rhododendron forests, sacred lakes, and other glaciers of varying sizes. You may observe the tall peaks surrounding you. It just takes some hours to discover the place. The trek doesn’t involve any technical difficulties. You may observe the magnificent views of the hills and mountains from the Ganesh Himal Base Camp. The day is the most beautiful of the entire trip. Do not forget to capture this moment on your camera. We will stay overnight at this place.
Today, you will get the opportunity to see the green pastures and terraced fields. You can explore plenty of charms of this place on your way. Trekkers may observe the traditional Tibetan lifestyles of the friendly inhabitants. There we will also pass through the hot spring where we might take a refreshing short bath. The few hours of trek from the main place takes you to the Rajgang Kharka. The overnight stay will be at Rajgang Kharka.
Today, we will be heading towards the small Gurung Settlement. On the way, you may observe the farmlands of rice and barely. You may enjoy the locals of this region dancing to their cultural songs. Trekkers will get the opportunity to have the typical meals prepared by Gurungs. Overnight stay will be at this place. However, the next day we will be prepared for another trip.
Today, we will be taking breakfast early in the morning. Then, we continue our trek towards Jharling which is one of the most beautiful villages in this region. A series of small villages will greet us along our journey towards Jharlang. This village is rich in natural beauty and wildlife. You may observe the high hills and glorious mountains from this village. The rare flora and fauna of this region are yet to be discovered. We will stay overnight at this beautiful place.
Today, we will be heading forward towards another scenic landscape. The path continues through the looming walls of the gorge. The site is one of the best and most beautiful stretches in the world. On the way, you will get to notice woodlands and terraced farms. Terraced farms are usually constructed to protect fields from a natural disaster. Therefore, they are very popular in the mountainous region of Nepal. The village of Darkha is not quite known to most trekkers. It is yet to be discovered. Overnight stay will be at Darkha.
Today, our trek is a comparatively shorter one. After a few hours, we will be arriving at Khahare Bazaar. Today is the end of our trekking journey. We say goodbye to the remote villages of Nepal. We will be celebrating our achievement of completing one of Nepal’s most demanding treks. However, trekkers are informed to be prepared for the next day. We may explore the Khahare market in the evening.
Today, we say goodbye to our crew members and proceed forward. We will drive back to Kathmandu by bus or private vehicle. After reaching Kathmandu, we have the remaining day off to rest or do some reminder shopping. We may also go for a short tour to Kathmandu valley as there are various important sites such as Patan Durbar Square, Hanuman Dhoka, Bhaktapur, etc.
Today we will walk around the local town in Kathmandu to experience the historical, cultural, and spiritual aspects of the valley, explore the century-old monuments, architecture, crafts, visit the temple of the living goddess “Kumari”.We will have a farewell dinner in the evening to celebrate the successful journey. The overnight will be in Kathmandu.
Our journey in Nepal comes to an end from today. Our representative will guide us to the airport about 3 hours before our planned flight. On our way home, we have an abundance of time to map our next adventure in the astonishing country of Nepal.

You need to pack your bags lightly because you will not be able to carry heavy loads along with the trek. You will not be able to enjoy your journey in the Himalayas unless you pack wisely. You will be sleeping in small lodges and tea houses during the entire trip. Please be prepared with the right clothes as per the season. The trek may be difficult for those who are trekking for the first time. The altitude will make it harder. The trek has rising and falling flats and abruptly ascends but it is generally manageable for the trekker of any age. They require little trekking experience. However, it is advised for the trekker to be physically fit and have some training before planning this trek.
You can enter Nepal by land as well as flight. Several airlines have direct flights to Kathmandu from many different countries like London, Paris, Doha, Osaka, Bangkok, Singapore, etc. One representative from our office will be at the airport to pick up. So, you can easily enter this beautiful country.
The trekking cost including accommodation, guide/porter, fees, foods etc remains the same. Nepalese citizens do not have to pay permit fees unlike foreigners. Foreign citizens need to pay extra charges. The cost will differ nearly by 200 US$ to Nepalese. You may inquire us for the further updated cost.
It is highly recommended to purchase travel insurance. You need to make sure that it covers emergency evacuation at high altitude. Altitude sickness may attack you though you are physically fit. The only solution is to take time and walk slow. If you feel uncomfortable, it is suggested to go lower elevation.
We will run our booked trips under normal circumstances. You will still be going on the trip even if other hikers cancel at the end moment. We will not cancel the whole trip even if there are fewer participants. Please note that we will not be continuing the trip if there is a political riot, natural disasters, pandemics, epidemics or catastrophes, etc.
Yes, the trek is fixable. We can continue to other trekking as per guest request. However, visit other trekking sites may include additional charge.
