The Spiritual Shaman Gosaikunda Trek is one of the perfect combinations of easier and beautiful treks. This route is categorized as modest that will take you from the banks of the Bhote Kosi River. It is said that the earthquake of 2015 caused some destruction in this region. Before that, the region was one of the most popular destinations on the trekking map. This journey is very valuable with incredible alpine scenery, engaging culture, and comfortable accommodation. Walking is not that exhausting with all those beauties around.
The trip passes with the heritages of Sherpa that welcome you with warm culture. There is terraced farmland that provides you an insight into the traditional farming of Nepal. Farming and cattle rearing is the major occupation of local people residing in the villages. Similarly, you may explore Lauribina for panoramic views. On top of that, there are the giant Himalayas that add beauty to nature. The valley is home to many rare animals of Nepal such as the Red Panda and Snow Leopard. On the way, you will be observing Mt. Langtang Lirung, Mt. Ganesh, Dorje Lakpa, etc. This trek is an easy choice and includes a very minimal cost compared to other treks.

Upon your arrival at TIA (Tribhuvan International airport, Kathmandu), our representative will meet and welcome you to Nepal and then you will be taken to your respective hotel. After the check-in process, you can rest if you are too tired. You will also be provided a welcome dinner hosted by our institution. You will stay overnight in Kathmandu.
After breakfast, we will start a guided tour to some historical attractions in Kathmandu (Durbar Square, the Pashupatinath, Swayambhunath, and Boudhanath. In the evening we take you for a short tour to Thamel, which is the main tourist hub in Kathmandu. We will make you familiar with some good restaurants, ATMs, money exchange, supermarket, gear shops and other necessary things you might need for your trip. You will stay overnight in Kathmandu.
We will be driving by tourist coach. It will take about 7-9 hours. We will be heading north out of Kathmandu driving through scenic foothills. Our drive up to Trishuli Bazaar is fairly smooth. The path moves through the gravel road. The way might be blocked sometimes due to rainy seasons. We will drive towards our destination either through a local bus or land cruiser. Overnight stay will be at Dhunche.

The first part of our trek ascends gradually through a mineral water factory. We keep on moving until we reach Ghatte Khola (stream). We will be passing a suspension bridge above this stream. After that, trekkers will begin to trek steep up until Shin Gompa. On the way, you will observe pine, silver oak, and rhododendron forests with marijuana plants. You will also notice an old cheese factory at Sing Gompa. Overnight stay will be at Shin Gompa.

On this day, we climb through dense woodland to Cholangpati. After that, we take a steep path to Lauribinak. You can observe glorious views of Ganesh Himal, Langtang Himal, Manaslu, and distant Annapurna from there. Similarly, alpine scenery comes into our focus as we make our way towards the sacred pools of Gosaikunda. There are 3 major lakes in this region. They include Saraswatikunda, Bhairabkunda, and Gosaikunda itself. According to Hindu mythology, the area is known as the temporary home of Lord Shiva. Therefore, it is considered a prime area of focus for thousands of pilgrims. They make the long journey to the pools in August each year.

The path leads through lush rhododendron forests, sacred lakes, and over 70 glaciers of varying sizes. You may observe the tall peaks surrounding you. Surya Peak is situated in the north of Gosaikunda lake. The peak is very easy to climb. It just takes around 4 hours to reach the top. The climb doesn’t involve any technical difficulties. You may observe the magnificent views of the Gosaikunda and from the summit of the peak. The day is the most beautiful of the entire trip. Do not forget to capture this moment on your camera. We will stay overnight at this place.

This is the day of achievement because we crest Laurebina pass. We will be taking the colorful prayer flags to celebrate the moment and take in the mountain panorama if possible. We make our way down the steep after that. You may observe natural wilderness on the way to Phedi. Red pandas and Snow leopards are the rare animals of this region. If you are lucky, they may welcome you on the way to Phedi. Finally, we arrive at Ghopte to stay overnight.

The trek to Dhunche will take about 5-6 hours. The first part of the path is dry land which is steeply down. On the other hand, the second part of the path is descending through pine, silver, oak, and rhododendron forests. You will also observe the rare Marijuana plant up to your cross suspension bridge. The Sing Gompa stream is very famous in this location. The path stretches through some human settlements and mineral water factories. Overnight stay will be at the hotel.

We take the next stunning morning drive back to Kathmandu. We will wave a heartfelt goodbye to the majestic mountains. After we land in Kathmandu, you will be transferred to our hotels and left on your own to enjoy and relax. Overnight stay at the hotel. You need to pack your bags lightly because you will not be able to carry heavy loads along with the trek. You will not be able to enjoy your journey in the Himalayas unless you pack wisely. You will be sleeping in small lodges and tea houses during the entire trip. Please be prepared with the right clothes as per the season.
