This Everest three passes trekking is an incredible journey to the World Highest Mountain, Mt. Everest. The closest point you can visit Everest without climbing gear is Everest Base Camp. The trek provides you the opportunity to have an eye to eye contact with the mighty Everest. Not only this, you can cross three different passes that are of 5000m: Renjo La, Cho La, and Kongma La. You may also observe breathtaking views of other Top Highest Mountain Peaks like Makalu (8,463m), Lhotse (8,516m), and Cho Oyu (8,188m).
Along the way to Everest Base Camp, you walk through beautiful monasteries, villages, forests, national parks, Gumbas, and many more. You cross several suspension bridges over the DudhKosi and Imja River. Do not miss the opportunity to walk on the glacier rocky and slippery pathway as well as beautiful scenery while trekking. All these features of the Everest region make this trip very thrilling and unforgettable. There is no precise age boundary for this trekking. Upon your arrival at TIA (Tribhuvan International airport, Kathmandu), our representative will meet and welcome you to Nepal and then you will be taken to your respective hotel. After the check-in process, you can rest if you are too tired. You will also be provided a welcome dinner hosted by our institution. You will stay overnight in Kathmandu.
After breakfast, we will start a guided tour to some historical attractions in Kathmandu (Durbar Square, the Pashupatinath, Swayambhunath, and Boudhanath. In the evening we take you for a short tour to Thamel, which is the main tourist hub in Kathmandu. We will make you familiar with some good restaurants, ATMs, money exchange, supermarket, gear shops and other necessary things you might need for your trip. You will stay overnight in Kathmandu.

We will take an early morning flight to Lukla (the gateway to the Everest trek). After the dramatic 30 min flight, enjoying the beautiful view of the hills and mountains, we land in Lukla, where we meet with our complete crew and proceed with our trek towards Phadking. After about a 4 hours trek we reach a small village of Phadking. You will stay overnight at a local lodge.

Moving uphill, we enter the Sagarmatha national park (loaded with species of flora and fauna). Gradually moving forward we pass several bridges and reach the Khumbu region, Namche Bazaar. From here, we get the sight of Everest, AmaDablan. You will stay overnight there.

Namche Bazaar is the Sherpa Capital, so here we experience the sherpa culture. Also, we hike around the Bazaar, to the top of Namche, and visit the museums, experience the breathtaking panoramic view of AmaDablam, Everest, Thamserku and other mountains. Today, we will be trekking clockwise direction of Everest Base Camp following the west Bhotekoshi river valley. We will be crossing Nyangpala pass which is the gateway of Tibet and Nepal. These valleys have a good outline of mountaineers and have set accounts on climbing histories. The first ascent was made by late Tenzing Norgay Sherpa. Similarly, Appa Sherpa climbed Everest 21 times. Overnight stay will be at Thame.

This is a very short trek from Thame to Murlung. It takes about 4 hours in the direction of the Nangpa La. The pass is the glaciated pass on the Nepal Tibet border. Murlung is a very famous village in this region because of its greenery, tribes, and culture of the people. You may also explore other endangered animals of this region such as the red panda and snow leopard. Overnight stay will be at Murlung.

We will start early today immediately after breakfast. On this day, we need to reach Renjola on top of the time for a great view. You will see various peaks such as Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, and Makalu. Makalu is also the fourth highest peak in the world. After enjoying the scenic view, we will be descending into Gokyo at an elevation of 4,800 meters. The overnight stay will be at Gokyo.

We spend one more day to acclimatize to the high altitude. We will be climbing Gokyo Ri if the weather is good. From the top of Gokyo Ri, we will admire the Himalayan vista and the tranquil lakes of Gokyo. We will also be hiking to the fourth and fifth Gokyo lakes. The 4th lake is only about 3Km north of Gokyo. It is marked by high cliffs and Himalayan peaks that rise above it. Walking a little further, we will reach 5th lake. You can see a lot from a climb up a nearby hill. The spot is called Scoundrel’s Viewpoint.

Today, we will be starting a steady ascent of Gokyo Ri, early in the morning. We will be further heading towards Thangnak in the afternoon. It is the glacier sections with rivers and waterfalls. On the way, you may also enjoy green forests and rhododendron. There are plenty of teahouses available in this area. You will be placed at one of the teahouses. However, we will be prepared for our next trip tomorrow.

Today, you will be provided for breakfast early in the morning. We will start our journey immediately after that to avoid unforeseen situations during the mid-day. The frozen conditions have more advantages of stability. Therefore, there are fewer chances of fallen loose rocks before a pass. After the pass, there are no hazardous sections. However, we will be providing you some training to protect yourself from such risks. The overnight stay will be at Dzongla.

Today is the day when we will get to the base camp. So, we begin the trek towards Gorakshep. They extend from Dzongla to Gorakshep usually takes two to three hours. However, you will gain almost 300 meters in altitude. Passing the trails of ChangriNup, Pumori, Changri we reach Gorakshep. Gorakshep is the townsite of Everest base camp. Here, we suit up, strip down our day packs, and head towards our goal, Everest base camp.

To see the summit of Mount Everest, we have to hike up to a landmark known as Kala Patthar, or “black rock”. The place sits at around 5,600 meters, making it upper in elevation than Everest Base Camp. The Base Camp is at 5,364 meters. You can see the summit of Mount Everest from there. It is the world’s tallest peak. After the view of Kala Patthar, we move to our destination place Gorakchhap and spend the night there.

In the early morning, you will be provided a cozy breakfast. Trekkers will be exposed to a dramatic panorama of the spectacular snow-capped peaks. The trek follows the upper moraine. We walk carefully to climb and cross the glacier. After that, we reach the nearby Nuptse wall. There you need to climb steadily towards the Knongmala pass. The pass is 5535 meters which is the highest pass on your trip. The slow descend towards the glacier pond leads to another small village called Chukung. The overnight stay will be there.

On this day, we will descend the windy trail towards Pangboche. On the way, you will encounter a beautiful village called Dingboche. The village is famous for Sherpa culture and traditions. After late lunch, we will still have some time to explore beautiful places. We may go to the oldest monastery in the Khumbu valley. The monastery will make you aware of Buddhist culture and spiritual values. The overnight stay will be at Pangboche.

Once we reach Lukla, we say thank you and bid goodbye to the crew members who made this trip successful. Lukla is the most famous tourist hub in the mountainous regions. There are very famous lodges in this beautiful place. We will stay overnight at a local lodge.

We take the next stunning morning flight back to Kathmandu. Waving a heartfelt goodbye to the majestic mountains. After we land in Kathmandu, you will be transferred to our hotels and left on your own to enjoy and relax. Overnight stay at the hotel. You need to pack your bags lightly because you will not be able to carry heavy loads along with the trek. You will not be able to enjoy your journey in the Himalayas unless you pack wisely. You will be sleeping in small lodges and tea houses during the entire trip. Please be prepared with the right clothes as per the season. The trek is not difficult physically. The altitude will make it hard. The trek has rising and falling flats and abruptly ascends but it is generally manageable for the trekker of any age. They require little trekking experience. However, it is advised for the trekker to be physically fit and have some training before planning this trek.
It is highly recommended to purchase travel insurance. You need to make sure that it covers emergency evacuation at high altitude. Altitude sickness may attack you though you are physically fit. The only solution is to take time and walk slow. If you feel uncomfortable, it is suggested to go lower elevation.
The trekking cost including accommodation, guide/porter, fees, foods etc remains the same. Nepalese citizens do not have to pay permit fees unlike foreigners. Foreign citizens need to pay extra charges. The cost will differ nearly by 200 US$ to Nepalese. You may inquire us for the further updated cost.
The best month for the trek is during the pre-monsoon months. This is generally from March to May. However, post-monsoon months starting from late September till December are also considered favorable. You need to prepare accordingly during the winter seasons. Some people also go trekking in February and early September.
Trekkers will enjoy 3 hearty meals on each day of the trek. You will have breakfast and dinner at the same lodge where you will stay at night. You will be provided lunch at teahouses or small restaurants along the way. You can easily choose your favorite food from the menu provided to you. Our leaders will make sure that you are provided with the right foods. You will be given fresh and organic fruits. They may be brought from Kathmandu or locally sourced in the villages. Your diet will comprise complex carbohydrates, proteins, and fats. We may arrange vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and kosher diets with prior notice.
Yes, the trek is fixable. We can continue to other trekking as per guest request. However, visit other trekking sites may include additional charge.
