On this day, we will be arriving at Paro airport and then drive to the capital city of Bhutan called Thimphu. You will be observing scenic and breathtaking views of the Himalayan Mountains during your flight. You will also see Mount Everest on your way if the weather permits. Your representative from the agency will greet you and take you to the destination. On the way, we will be observing a temple called Tamchhong Lhakhang that was built by Thang Thong Gyalpo of Tibet. You will certainly get a good overview of the Thimphu valley from Buddha point. Later on this day, we will relax at the hotel in Thimphu.

On this day, we will be taking breakfast early in the morning to hike Cheri Monastery. After 1 hour of a hike from there, we will arrive at Cheri Goemba. You will get the chance to spot some rare birds such as Mrs. Gould’s Sunbird, Yellow-browed Tit, Yellow-rumped, Honeyguide, Long-billed Thrush, etc. Similarly, you will get to notice a paper factory. The handmade paper-making tradition originated in Bhutan in the 8th century. In the evening you may observe Bhutan Bazaar. These markets are busy every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday where there are lots of stalls for papercrafts, foods, clothes, wood crafts, paintings, etc. The overnight stay will be at Thimbu.

In the early morning, we will be driving towards Gangtey. There we come across a pass known as Dochula. You can see the beautiful panoramic views of the mountains from there. The beauty of this place is further added by Druk Wangyal Chortens. It is the stupas built by one of the eldest queens. In the east of Wangdue Phodrang lies the Phobjikha valley. The monastery of Gangety is situated on the slopes of this valley. After the visit to the Gangety monastery, we will be staying overnight at a lodge in Gangety.

In the morning we will be hiking across Gangety nature path. This is the most beautiful and shortest nature trail. You will be walking through sloppy areas covered with green grasses and pine trees. Trekkers will have the opportunity to visit the Goemba monastery that has cultural significance. On the way, you will come through a series of villages, rivers, and roosting grounds. Trongsa Museum is another important attraction of this region. It is situated above the Trongsa dzong. The museum is equipped with art technologies and includes a media room. In this way, overnight stay will be at Trongsa.

In the morning we will be visiting Punakha Dzong. It is located between the rivers of Mo(Female) Chu (river) and Pho(Male) and Chu. The place served as the seat of the king until the time of the second king. We will also be hiking to Chimi Lhakhang which is also known as the temple of fertility. On the way, we will be walking through a gentle steep, good footpath, valleys, and villages. The overnight stay will be at Punakha.

In the morning we will drive to Paro and visit Rimpung Dzong. These architectural structures are constructed for a variety of functions. They are carefully designed and are attractive as well. Similarly, you will get to observe Kichu Lhakhang monastery which is one of the two most sacred and the oldest temples in Bhutan. If you are lucky and the weather is clear, you will be observing a fascinating view of the white-domed peak of sacred Jhomolhari (Mountain of Goddess). Overnight stay will be at Paro.

In the morning we will be hiking to Taktshang Monastery which is Bhutan’s most recognizable cultural icon. It is believed that in the 8th century, the great tantric master (2nd Buddha) flew on the back of a tigress to the site where the monastery stands this date. You will be walking through some gentle and steep paths and stony footpaths. Riding a horse upward will cost an extra US$25 per person. We will also be visiting the farmhouse on this day. There you will get the opportunity to enjoy the hospitality of Paro farmers. Similarly, you will get an insight into their interesting lifestyle. Overnight stay will be in Paro.

Our journey to Paro comes to an end from today. Our representative will guide you to the airport for about 3 hours before our planned flight. On our way home, we have an abundance of time to map our next adventure in the astonishing country of Bhutan.

You need to pack your bags lightly because you will not be able to carry heavy loads along with the trek. You will not be able to enjoy your journey in the Himalayas unless you pack wisely. You will be sleeping in small lodges during the entire trip. Please be prepared with the right clothes as per the season. It will get colder at the higher elevations especially during winters. We will not cancel the whole trip even if there are fewer participants. It is not possible to prepare a visa and permit yourself because of the strict tourism policy by the government. You can travel alone but that must be accompanied by a guide. This is because every tour needs to be organized.
The best month for the trek is April to Mid-November. However, the better months are from August to October. Also, post-monsoon months starting from late September till December are also considered favorable. You need to prepare accordingly during the winter seasons. Some people also go trekking in February and early September.
Trekkers will enjoy 3 hearty meals on each day of the trek. You will have breakfast and dinner at the same lodge where you will stay at night. You will be provided lunch at small restaurants along the way. You can easily choose your favorite food from the menu provided. Our leaders will make sure that you are provided with the right foods.
Yes, the trek is fixable. We can continue to other trekking as per guest request. However, visit other trekking sites may include an additional charge.
