This Tibet to Everest Base Camp Tour is an incredible journey to the World Highest Mountain, Mt. Everest. The closest point you can visit Everest without climbing gear is Everest Base Camp. We will be staying for the first 3 nights in the ancient city of Lhasa. You will get the opportunity to see the culturally and historically interesting sites such as Potala Palace, Sera, Derpung, and Tasjilhunpo monasteries. You will get the chance to travel along the wonderful Friendship Highway while leaving Lhasa.
Along the way to Everest Base Camp, you walk through beautiful monasteries, villages, forests, national parks, and many more. Do not miss the opportunity to walk on the glacier rocky and slippery pathway as well as beautiful scenery while trekking. All these features of this trip are very thrilling and unforgettable. There is no precise age boundary for this trekking. Seniors and minimum age people can also do it if they find it safe and convenient. Upon your arrival at Lhasa Airport, your Tibetan guide will greet you. The guide will transfer you to the hotel. The drive to Lhasa is very easy that takes about one and a half hours. Lhasa is commonly known as the capital city of Tibet. You can spend the rest of the day relaxing or acclimatizing on your own. Overnight stay will be at the hotel.
You will be provided for breakfast early in the morning. The guide will take you to the amazing Potala Palace. This is Lhasa’s major attraction and is also a wonder of eastern architecture. You will remember this experience for years to come. After that, we will be visiting the Jokhang Temple. It is another beautiful attraction of the city. Tibetans consider this temple as the most sacred and important of all. We will also be visiting Barkhor Steet which is an equally important street in the city. The street is located among Jokhang temple in Khasa. Again, we arrive at Lhasa to stay overnight.
We visit one of the major attractions of the city, Sera Monastery. The monastery is one of the “great three” Gelung academia of Tibet. It is located 1.25 miles north of Lhasa. The monastery is well known for advanced Buddhist studies and practices. On this day, we will also visit Drepung Monastery. It is the world’s biggest monastery and is home to more than 10 thousand Tibetan monks. The monastery lies hidden in rocky a ridge that is just beyond Lhasa city. Throughout so many years, much of the building was left untouched which was very surprising. After that, we head towards Lhasa to stay overnight.
Today, you will be provided for breakfast early in the morning. We leave Lhasa on a four-wheel along the Friendship Highway. Trekkers will enjoy crossing across the amazing high passes. It includes Khambo La and Kharo La. You will observe stunning views of the Himalayan Mountains. You may observe an enormous glacier rises nearly straight up from the road. This will be noticed when the trip passes Kharo La pass. The drive is much more exciting with beautiful Tibetan settlements, valleys, and a famous lake called Yamdrok. We reach Gyantse by late afternoon and then finally arrive at Shigatse to stay overnight.
Today, we leave Shigatse and drive along the wonderful Friendship Highway. Here, you will enjoy the spectacular views of this desert plateau. We will be then arriving at Tingri which is a town in Tingri country. It is located in the South of Tibet Autonomous Region. In the afternoon, we descend to Rongbuk Valley, where we will be observing the Rongbuk monastery. From there, Mount Everest will quickly jump into view. It would be our first opportunity to grasp a sight. We will be heading forward to Everest Base Camp to stay overnight at the tented camp.
Today is the special day of our entire journey. The views of the north face make the mountain even more impressive. Do not forget to take your camera to capture the precious moments. It is a truly amazing experience to steer up at the Mount. Everest is the world’s highest peak. The mountain towers above us in a magical way. By noon, we will be driving back to Shigatse. We will be passing through a wonderful Friendship Highway. Overnight stay will be at Shigatse.
After breakfast, the drive continues towards the northern highway to Lhasa. On the way, we will be visiting Tashilunpo Monastery. It was founded in 1447 by the first Dalai Lama. The monastery which is located in Shigatse has cultural and historical importance. Today, we leave the second largest city of Tibet, Shigatse, and head towards Lhasa. This is about the six-hour journey along with the different views. Upon our arrival, we will check into the same hotel for our comfortable stay. Overnight stay will be at the hotel.
Our journey from Tibet-Everest comes to an end from today. Our representative will guide you to the airport for about 3 hours before our planned flight. On our way home, we have an abundance of time to map our next adventure in the astonishing country of Tibet.

You need to pack your bags lightly because you will not be able to carry heavy loads along with the trek. You will not be able to enjoy your journey in the Himalayas unless you pack wisely. You will be sleeping in small lodges during the entire trip. Please be prepared with the right clothes as per the season. It will get colder at the higher elevations especially during winters. The trek is not difficult physically. However, the altitude will make it hard. The trek has rising and falling flats and abruptly ascends but it is generally manageable for the trekker of any age. They require little trekking experience. However, it is advised for the trekker to be physically fit and have some training before planning this trek.
The currency used is the Chinese Yuan. You can exchange our native currency from any banks or ATMs in China. However, banks are closed on Saturdays and Sundays. Therefore, to remain safe it is advised to bring some cash before. ATMs may not be available in remote areas of the country.
It is not possible to prepare a visa and permit yourself because of the strict tourism policy by the government. You can travel alone but that must be accompanied by a guide. This is because every tour needs to be organized.
The best month for the trek is April to Mid-November. However, the better months are from August to October. Also, post-monsoon months starting from late September till December are also considered favorable. You need to prepare accordingly during the winter seasons. Some people also go trekking in February and early September.
Trekkers will enjoy 3 hearty meals on each day of the trek. You will have breakfast and dinner at the same lodge where you will stay at night. You will be provided lunch at small restaurants along the way. You can easily choose favorite food from the menu provided. Our leaders will make sure that you are provided with the right foods.
Yes, the trek is fixable. We can continue to other trekking as per guest request. However, visit other trekking sites may include an additional charge.
