The Manaslu Circuit Trek is one of Nepal’s most beautiful yet less-explored trekking adventures. This 12-days trek takes you around Mount Manaslu, the world’s eighth-highest peak at 8,163 meters, also known as the “Mountain of the Spirit.” Unlike the busy trails of Everest or Annapurna, Manaslu offers a quieter, more peaceful experience, perfect for trekkers who want to connect with nature and local culture away from the crowds.
The trail passes through a stunning variety of landscapes. You’ll start in warm, green valleys with terraced fields and forests, then slowly climb into dramatic alpine scenery, rugged mountains, and glacial terrain. Along the way, you’ll walk through traditional villages of the Nubri people and other Tibetan-influenced communities, where life has remained unchanged for generations. You’ll visit ancient monasteries such as Pungyen Gompa and witness unique customs, prayer flags, and stone mani walls that reflect deep Buddhist traditions.
The highlight of the trek is crossing the challenging Larkya La Pass at 5,160 meters. Though demanding, the reward is unforgettable—wide-open views of towering peaks like Annapurna II, Himlung Himal, and the surrounding Himalayan giants. The Manaslu Circuit is a perfect blend of adventure, culture, and raw natural beauty, making it an ideal choice for trekkers seeking something truly special.

Upcoming Trip Departures:
The most favorable periods to undertake the Manaslu Circuit Trek are during the spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) seasons.
The Manaslu Circuit is classified as a moderate to challenging trek that requires a high level of physical and mental preparation. Because you will be walking for 6 to 8 hours daily across rugged terrain and ascending to altitudes above 5,000 meters, a dedicated training regime is essential.
The Manaslu region is a remote area where accommodation is primarily provided by locally-run teahouses and lodges. These facilities offer a humble but authentic mountain experience.
Since the Manaslu region borders Tibet and contains protected environmental zones, the Nepal government requires several specific permits to ensure security and conservation. Trekking independently is strictly prohibited; you must be part of a group of at least two people and be accompanied by a licensed Nepali guide.
The primary permits required for your 14-day journey include:
These permits cannot be obtained individually and must be processed by a registered trekking agency on your behalf. While a Trekkers' Information Management System (TIMS) card is standard for many other routes in Nepal, it is generally not required for the Manaslu Circuit as the Restricted Area Permit serves as the primary tracking document.
The most significant things to be included on the backpack are:
Others
You need to pack your bags lightly because you will not be able to carry heavy loads along with the trek. You will not be able to enjoy your journey in the Himalayas unless you pack wisely. You will be sleeping in small lodges and tea houses during the entire trip. Please be prepared with the right clothes as per the season. It will get colder at the higher elevations especially during winters. You can also consult us or simply visit our comprehensive packing list for the Manaslu Circuit Trek in Nepal.
All visitors to Nepal require a visa except Indian nationals. Citizens of SAARC nations, such as Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Bhutan, are exempt for up to 30 days.
Obtaining a Nepal visa is straightforward. You can apply online at https://nepaliport.immigration.gov.np/ within 15 days of your arrival. The application requires your hotel address in Nepal and a digital passport-sized photo.
Once submitted, print the confirmation page and present it at the immigration section of Kathmandu airport along with your passport and the visa fee.
To book the Manaslu Circuit Trek, you'll need to book a trip with a government authorized trekking agency in Nepal like us. Nepal One Adventure will handle the necessary permits, guide, and porters services you will be needing during the trek. To confirm a booking, we require 10% of the whole trip cost. The money will be used to prebook the hotels (which will be very hard to get during peak seasons), and acquire the required permits. You can pay the remaining payment right before we start your trek, i.e. upon arriving in Nepal.
After the initial booking, we will need your detailed informations i.e documents like passport copy, photo, flight details, travel insurance, etc. We will ask for these documents within a week of booking your trek. While booking with us, we want to let you know that we are concerned about your safety, and all your documents will be safely with us.

The most favorable seasons are Spring (March to May) and Autumn (mid-September to November/December). Spring offers stable weather and vibrant rhododendron blooms, while Autumn is the peak season for the clearest mountain views and stable conditions for crossing the high pass.
The trek is classified as moderate to challenging. It involves walking 6 to 8 hours daily over rugged terrain and reaching altitudes above 5,000 meters. Larkya La Pass makes the trekking difficult and not highly recommended to the beginner with bad physical fitness. While beginners with good physical fitness can complete it, prior trekking experience and mental resilience are highly recommended.
No, solo trekking is strictly prohibited in this region. The Nepal government requires a minimum of two trekkers in a group, and they must be accompanied by a licensed government guide.
The highest point and the ultimate highlight of the journey is the Larkya La Pass, which sits at an elevation of 5,160 meters.
Accommodation is provided by locally-run teahouses and lodges. Rooms are usually simple with twin beds and thin mattresses; toilets are typically shared and vary between Western and squat-style.
Teahouses offer a variety of meals, with Dal Bhat (rice, lentil soup, and curry) being the most common and energy-efficient option. Other choices include noodles, pasta, soups, eggs, and pancakes. Vegetarian and vegan options are readily available.
We will run our booked trips under normal circumstances. You will still be going on the trip even if other hikers cancel at the end moment. We will not cancel the whole trip even if there are fewer participants. Please note that we will not be continuing the trip if there is a political riot, natural disasters, pandemics, epidemics or catastrophes, etc.
Our institution offers a lifetime deposit policy. This allows you the flexibility to transfer your deposit to anyone or any other trip. However, you will charge a certain amount, if you wished to cancel your booked trips. You may visit our booking terms and conditions. In this way, you will get detailed information.
Yes, most hotels you stay in Kathmandu provide free storage facilities for items you do not need on the trail. We also provide you to space to store your extrs luggage.
It is highly recommended to hire a porter to make your trek more enjoyable and safer at high altitudes. A porter typically carries a weight limit of 18 to 20 kg, which is usually shared between two trekkers. Also, our package provides porter for your smooth trekking.
